Dr. Appointment update

We had our Dr. Appointment on 8/25/09. Everything looks good. We had a sonogram first, and they were taking all kinds of measurements. After the sonogram, we saw the Nurse Practitioner, who went over everything. She told us that the baby is growing great, she is the proper size for how far along I am. The fluid levels are all where they should be, which means the baby's kidneys are functioning properly. We were glad to hear all of that good news. The results they received from the Echocardiogram came back with exactly what the Dr. had told us, he is unsure if there is a hole between the two bottom chambers. So overall, a good appointment which we were happy with.
Our next appointment is 9/15/09. Just an office visit, no sonogram. We also have an Echocardiogram scheduled for that day as well. We also scheduled an appointment with them for 9/21/09. At this appointment they explained that they will start monitoring the baby's movements and heart rate. I will have my sonogram, then be hooked up to the fetal monitor. They told us these appointments will be a bit longer then normal now that the baby will be monitored. We will then be going to Syracuse weekly for check-ups.

Echocardiogram update

Today was the day we had the echocardiogram (this is a sonogram of the heart that shows the development and the flows of the blood). We saw Dr. Atallah-Yunes today and he agreed with Dr. Nosovitch in seeing all four chambers. There was a concern that there may be a small whole between two of the chambers. He would like to see me back on 9/15/09 for another look. He said, as of right now, there are no major defects which is good.
We are still praying for the best. Keep us in your prayers.
Thank you!

Welcome to our site from Angela, Jim and Mackenzie

Hello everyone! We want to welcome you to our blog.
Here is an updated photo of Mackenzie being silly.
Jim and I are expecting our second daughter and she was diagnosed with diaphragmatic hernia. Basically the diaphragm doesn't form properly, and allows other organs to grow into the chest cavity and not allow the lungs to develop. After birth, she needs surgery immediately and then she has to be put on assisted breathing until her lungs can fully develop. I will deliver in Syracuse at Crouse Hospital around Thanksgiving sometime. Our next appointment is to have an echocardiagram on August 18th which monitors the baby's heart. We also have another sonogram and Dr. appointment with Dr. Nosovitch on August 26th. I will update again after our appointment.
Please keep our baby girl in your prayers.
